Trees Without Leaves

I've always loved
Trees without leaves

Their trunks,

Branches, and twigs

Inspired me at a young age

Now, they remind me of what's inside of me

Of what's inside all of us

But these trees that I can see

From my office desk

Don't ever have leaves

And that makes me sad

But today, I noticed birds dancing 

From one branch to the next

And that makes me happy
